Le Prese nestles between steep mountain flanks, directly beside Lago di Poschiavo. The lake was dammed by a prehistoric rockfall and attracts nature lovers and sports enthusiasts alike, whether for a refreshing swim in summer or for fishing, surfing or leisurely strolls along the shore. Le Prese is also known for its herb cultivation for teas. More than 30 different organic tea herbs and flowering plants bloom here in the summer and their aromas fill the air, lending Le Prese a very unique atmosphere. Le Prese makes the ideal starting point for hikes and bike tours; regular train and bus connections extend the radius considerably though and enable visitors to easily explore all of the attractions in the surrounding area: the main town of Poschiavo with its cobbled alleys and stately stone-roofed patrician houses, Val da Camp nature reserve with its lush alpine flora and the enchanting mountain lakes of Lagh da Saoseo and Lagh da Val Viola as well as the impressive glacial mills of Cavaglia. It is also just a few minutes by train down the valley to the smuggler and wine museum and the unique circular viaduct of the Rhaetian Railway in Brusio.
